What it is for

The usual home-office compromise is a desk plus a pedestal unit underneath, which works until the desk starts moving up and down and the pedestal does not. This 47.2 by 23.7 inch model puts the drawers on the underside of the top instead, so the whole assembly travels together. What assembly actually means

Build order matters: drawers to the top, then frame, then stand the desk up. Fitting the frame first leaves no clearance to reach the drawer bolts, and the housing is not designed to be added from above once the legs are in place.
