What it is for
Screen wobble on a sit-stand desk is usually the mount, not the desk, and it gets worse as the desk goes up. This dual mount is the stiff answer in the range: heavier steel sections, 17 to 33 inch screens, 22 lbs per arm. It costs more than the popular dual stand and the difference is entirely in how still the screens stay when the desk is typed on at standing height.
Check before you order. A stiff mount transfers desk movement rather than absorbing it, so it only pays off on a desk that is itself solid. On a light or wobbly desk the extra cost buys nothing that the standard dual mount does not already provide.
What assembly actually means
Heavier sections make this the least forgiving mount to assemble alone, and the one where the clamp should be seated over a solid section of desk from the outset. Fit both arms empty, check the post is vertical, then load. Do not tighten the head joints fully until both screens are aligned to each other.
What it changes
- Stiffer sections damp the bounce that a raised standing desk transmits from the keyboard to the screens.
- A 17 inch lower limit reflects the intent: this is a mount for two proper monitors, not for a screen and a small secondary panel.
- Twenty-two pounds per arm keeps two 32 inch panels comfortably inside the rating rather than at its edge.
